Star director Carl Ebert's production of Massenet "Don Quixote" at the Wexford Festival was indeed a coup and the best all around performed opera in this important opera festival.
Ivan Mixova singing the role of Dulcinia was exceptional her high tones were remarkable as the pianissimo, her acting and persona was most engaging as was Don Quixote. Staged by Domy Reiter-Soffer with a great expertise and magic, moving the excellent Chorus with ease creating interest and exciting scenes.
There was great singing from the principles and the smaller roles…..
