Orpheus et Euridice - Wexford Festival

The wonderful Gluck's opera Orpheus et Eurydice performed at the Wexford Festival was sheer musical and visual delight. Directed by Wolfgang Wagner and staged by Domy Reiter-Soffer.
The chorus were unseen behind a scrim in the back of the stage while the action was primarily performed by chorus of dancers, except for the main roles. The whole opera moved with ease and visual artistry executed both by the dancers and the protagonists. It gave the production most interesting scope of movement and magical moment especially in the famous scene The Elysian Field which was beautifully danced and choreographed with such care and sensitivity. In actual fact the honors go to Domy Reiter-Soffer for his vision moving the singers with such ease that made Orpheus et Eurydice the highlight of the Festival. Bravo all around.
