Beach

A Ballet "Beach" presented by the Bat Dor Dance Company for Tel Aviv 100th Anniversary celebration choreographed by Domy Reiter- Soffer . The Ballet deals with the daily happenings at the beach of Tel Aviv from Dawn to Dusk with all the hum drum and reasons for people to go to the beach. It is extremely entertaining but also psychological and funny. The dancers took to it like ducks to water, their attitudes and going on was highly provocative and sometimes bordering on the absurd which is what people sometimes allow themselves to do on a Beach. The love duet danced by Phillip cass and Ilana Goldberg was beautifully executed with high lifts that ended up eventually in a sand dune. The different solos from the coquettish girls to the demure and the go getters to the lonely fisherman all depicted in ironic amusing manner that made the Beach come true to life. It is extremely entertaining ballet and Domy Reiter Soffer's choreography stretched the dancers to the extreme using sometimes acrobatic movement at times to emphasize what people do when they are half naked. The end was a great surprise to the audience when the dancers dived to the audience. Great Fun.
