Inquisition

Bat Dor Dance Company contribution to Karmiel Festival was the best on the programme. Domy Reiter Soffer's cinemascope Ballet "Inquisition" dealt with Jewish suffering and the Auto-da-fe of the 15th century Spain. The Ballet had a definite style used fine wide gesture very dramatic and outstandingly danced by the Bat Dor Dance Company. The work was full of haunting images with searing musical passages ending in a tableaux of beautiful Ladino (Hispanic) motives, and eventual dispersion.

I think it was the only presentation on the programme that dealt with the Inquisition which was the subject of the evening festival.
