I shall sing to thee

At last we are blessed with true Israeli authentic Ballet that is most memorable and choreographically most satisfying. The subject is about King David and his Loves until his eventual death. The Music is specially composed by Zvi Avni who worked closely with the choreographer and the result is a work with all the brilliance and choreographical excitement that provide the dancers with a wonderful material to put their teeth into.

Especially Jeannette Ordman who danced Michal David's First wife with great power  yet lyrical with much understanding of the role.  Nira Paaz dancing Avigail his second wife was also excellent in her portrayal very sure and imposing. The piece had a modern oriental influence with wide dance vocabulary which is the choreographer's style giving extraordinary impact.

Igal Berdchevski danced the main Role of King David with strength and technical surety that made him stand out as one of the most important principal dancer today in the dance scene. His personality exuded beyond expectations that made his King David  powerful and exciting.

The whole work was most unusual choreographically and musically  in the best possible way, Bravo Bat Dor dance Company and Bravo Domy Reiter Soffer.

Domy Reiter Soffer's first choreographical work for the Bat Dor Dance Company was unforgettable. Given the subject and the unusual style of movement that gave a unique voice and excitement.

In "I shall sing to thee" the audience witnessed a true Israeli Modern work based on the loves of King David. The dance was composed by the well known Composer Zvi Avni who gave us an exciting score that is also very Israeli and unusual in its form.

Igal Berdechevski Dance the main role with bravura technical feats and understanding of the role that made king David great. And so was Jeanette Ordman as his first wife Michal. She danced with great ease and lyricism giving the role a definite strength and charm and later her jealousy when confronted with the other wives of King David and especially Bat- Sheva(danced by Irena Brecher) with great beauty of line and sexual over tones, luring the king to her eventual triumph.

King David death scene was most original and moving with such theatricality and with biblical flavor, giving all the wives unity and strength in a moment of mourning.

The work has choreographical richness of composition and theatricality.
