Other Days-Irish National Ballet

Other Days "Other Days" choreography by Domy Reiter Soffer with a fascinating music by Bob Downes characteristically and dramatically is a beautifully conceived work for three dancers. The title comes from the Irish Poet Thomas Moore "Sad memory brings the light of other days around me' a ballet of images and dreams thoughts and memories. I recall primarily an ingenious means or method in lighting that created its own costumes of shadows on torsos and bodies and a pas de deux sequence distinguished by the taut, springy vitality of Monica Johannson, who has a technique of clear definition in all her movements sharpens the choreographical texture with its own volition. It is a moving beautiful ballet and a great addition to the Irish National ballet Repertoire".
Noel Goodwin-(Dance and Dancers)

"Domy Reiter Soffer's ballet "Other Days" to music of Bob Downes is a beautifully shaped work for three dancers. Michael Woolsey danced a man remembers past loves and jealousies. It makes its point with economy and effectiveness, and presented Monica Johannson and Jonathan Aiden with style and dramatic innuendo".
Noleen Dowling-(The Irish Times)

"Other Days" a splendid ballet choreographed by Domy Reiter Soffer for a trio of Dancers. It is immediate and pulsating beat exploits deliberately the whole body movement breaking away from the conventional balletic form to extent of permitting the dancers a human dimension not otherwise apparent in classical ballet. The music of Bob Downes pulsates through a ballet with a language that is unique. In fact Reiter Soffer's choreography is as exciting as he used to do superbly as a dancer. I think this is a celebration of the very language of ballet itself giving drama colour and excitement with lyrical power".
Robert O'Donoghue- (The Times).
