La Valse-Bat Dor Dance Company

“The December performance at the Mann Auditorium of Bat Dor Dance Company's La Valse was memorable. Domy Reiter –Soffer the internationally known choreographer has staged a remarkable piece of theatre to Ravel's
La Valse Noble et Sentimentales and La Valse. This no ordinary three quarter-time invention and Reiter-Soffer, who has created many outstanding works for the Bat Dor dance Company over the past decade, has never done anything more impulsive and stylish than this wild, exciting fantasy of the spirit of dance. The company has never looked more polished and patrician-the women in flame-red costumes with plumed dresses, the men in sober shirts, waistcoats and black trousers for the first half swept across the stage with such elegance and panache that was breathtaking. At the opening of the second half with its black and silver Deco style costumes brought a spontaneous applause from the audience and from then on we were swept by the intriguing pulses of the music and the choreography that made complete sense to a well known score with its dramatic nuisances and gripping atmosphere which had a lasting impact that left one wonder with satisfaction”.
